Emerald Dream BIG
Patch 6.5.0 Is Finally Here

Patch 6.5.0 is finally here

Initially this patch was supposed to be another minor patch and we even called it internally 6.4.7 up until a couple days ago. That was when I realized that the changelog is a bit too large for it to be called a minor patch. Combine that with the release of the new World of Warcraft Emerald Dream patch and we have a major ToxiUI version!

So buckle up, grab a cup of coffee (jk you don't need one) and read more, cause we have a bunch of new features, a bug fix, loads of profile updates, minor documentation-level changes, a couple refactors of the ToxiUI settings and also development improvements!

New features

If I were to go over every single feature in-detail with pictures, this article would get extremely long veeery fast, so I'll try to summarize. Let's go!

First up, we now have random tips showing up in the Game Menu (whenever you press ESC). They change each time you reload, so make sure to check them out occasionally! Additionally, the lovely specialization icons we have are now also present in the Game Menu!

Next, we have finally, after years of asking, introduced a level tag for UnitFrames. I have wondered about implementing the same coloring as the tooltip has (green for low, yellow for similar level, red for high level), but I don't see as much value to it.

Following previous patches fashion, we're expanding on the ToxiUI icons - now we have them for Master Looter, Main Tank & Main Assist roles.

The installer got a little touch-up and now Details has two separate profiles/buttons - for one window and two windows! Now giga DPS chads can focus on their own damage, who needs to know healing, am I right?

We are also expanding on our Additional Scaling feature by adding the Spellbook to it. Getting old sucks, everything starts to seem too small :(

And finally, a classification tag has been created to distinguish between rares & elites on your UnitFrames. This is still not final and I might remove it for units that are at max level, since it shouldn't matter in a raid environment.

Bug fixes

Thankfully there weren't a lot of bugs to squash. We have fixed the Power tag not changing when toggling Dark theme. Now the behavior is to have a smart coloring for Power tag in Normal & Gradient themes and display class colored level tag in Dark theme.

Profile updates

Not that long ago we had changed our WeakAuras guide to be more up-to-date. In the guide it was mentioned to have resources above icons, so the ToxiUI WA Anchor has been repositioned to reflect that setting.

We have also made some changes to the Party UnitFrames in Healer layout: fixed fonts for level and power tags, gave more breathing room to buffs & debuffs, moved the power text to the right side and also moved the frames down a bit. Main Tank & Main Assist frames have also gotten a minor touch-up with changed fonts and repositioning.

ActionBars were updated a little bit too. Pet & Stance bar visibility updated to match ElvUI defaults. Pet ActionBar size updated to match the rest of UI with the 4:3 ratio. We have also disabled the HH:MM threshold for ActionBars. Finally, we have added a custom glow to ActionBars using ToxiUI colors.

Documentation

Some small tweaks here. Naturally we have updated the TOC so that the minimum required ElvUI version is now 13.47 and also of course updated for WoW 10.2 :D Furthermore we've added some additional information to Gradient theme's description.

Settings Refactoring

ToxiUI options have been updated with clearer text and hopefully better organization so that it's easier to understand and find things!

In the General tab, we've updated the Open Installer button text so it's more clear. We have also added a Status Report button to serve as an alternative to the /tx status command.

The Skins tab has been re-factored a little bit - now Group Icons and Role Icons have their own dedicated tabs. No longer do you need to scroll that much :)

Finally, the WunderBar tab subcategories have been renamed so they're easier to understand. Modules are now called Module Positions, meanwhile SubModules are now Module Settings.

Updating ToxiUI

Generally, we do not provide support for editing ToxiUI, but if you still want to edit it and not lose your settings, there are a couple approaches to that. Click on the button below to find out more!
